After you complete the required boating safety certification course, you will receive a temporary card for most states and Canada.
Your temporary card is valid until the expiration date listed on it. This allows you to use it right away while your permanent plastic card is being processed and mailed.
Please note that some states do not issue a temporary card through our system. In those cases, the temporary or permanent card may be handled directly by the state.
Please allow up to 5 weeks for your plastic card to arrive in the mail. The card will arrive in a plain white envelope, so be sure to check your mail carefully.
